C0007623Architectural Design 1
Open to: Grades: 12, 11 Credits: 8 Terms: Full Year This program emphasizes architectural drafting and designing techniques used in residential architecture. Students will use AutoCAD 2006 2D and 3D, Solid Modeling, and Microsoft Office applications throughout the course to complete project work.
Topics include: room planning and design, methods of building construction, structural design considerations, exterior design and architectural styles, model constructions, and specifications. The completion of architectural drawings including floor plans, elevations, building sections, schedules and detail drawings will be covered in the course.

BUHS prerequisite: C00007610 Pre Tech: Intro to Architecture and Engineering.
In addition to a college preparatory curriculum, students would benefit from taking advanced level math beyond Algebra II, Physics, Interior Design, Advanced Art courses, Computer Programming, Computer Graphics. Notes:
