Overview:

This course will explore creativity in children's lives and learning environments. Emphasis will be on the exploration and integration of the creative process in the learning environment. Students will be introduced to the concepts of creativity, materials selection, and the setting up and modification of classrooms. Various approaches to teaching children will be discussed as they pertain to children's age, development, and the arts, especially in the school setting. Field experience(s) in an early childhood setting will be available. *This course may also be offered for college credit. It is equivalent to CCV's Fostering Creative Learning in Chrildred (EDU - 1250-VC01

Open to grades 11-12
Successful completion of Intro to Early Childhood Education; Accuplacer scores must meet benchmarks for admission to CCV.
