In this course, students will learn to identify ways the Performing Arts can be utilized in Health and Education career pathways.  Students will learn basic techniques and vocabulary in the performing arts.  Students will study and explore careers that use aspects of theater, circus and dance such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy and other health fields, as well as career pathways in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education and physical education.  The student will have the opportunity to develop and implement lesson plans for working with youth.  The students will study domestic and international social art programs, and learn techniques for working with at-risk youth and students with disabilities.  This class involves field trips to local schools and organizations for observation and participation in educational workshops.  This class provides opportunities for community service projects outside of class.

Intro to Performing Arts or Performing Arts 1
