This course is the first course in WRCC’s English sequence. This course will provide students with professional English skills that can be used in their future career paths in conjunction with other career center programs. Students will work on developing their workplace values, aptitudes and interests and then practicing writing and communicating in ways that apply to their careers. Some of the topics, skills, and ideas that may be covered include goal planning and development, decision-making techniques, resumes, cover letters, professional language, portfolio development, website design, mock interviews, workplace policies, interpreting contracts, and completing job or college applications.
Successful completion of English II or a comparable sophomore-level English course per instructor and director approval.
