This is the first course in the Professional English sequence. This course will provide students with professional English skills that can be used in their future career paths in conjunction with other career center programs. Students will work on developing their reading, writing, and communications skills, while utilizing a variety of texts (essays, shorts stories, and technical texts). Some of the topics, ideas, and skills that may be covered are goal planning and development, introduction to communication and interpersonal communication, resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and completing job or college applications. Successful completion of English II or a comparable sophomore-level English course is a required prerequisite.
Successful completion of English II or a comparable sophomore-level English course per instructor and director approval.
