Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) at the Windham Regional Career Center offer enrolled students a way to connect with their peers locally, regionally and nationally through fun and engaging activities and events that develop strong career skills related to their course of study.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
All students who are taking or have taken a business course are eligible for membership in the Future Business Leaders of America organization. FBLA offers added value to business courses and excites students. If students are interested in developing leadership, communication, and team skills, or simply looking for an organization to meet and network with others at the local, state, and national levels, then FBLA is the right organization to get involved in. FBLA students can earn scholarships by participating and placing at state and national competitive events.
The National FFA Organization
WRCC students enrolled in the Forestry and Natural Resources Program are eligible for membership. The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA is not a “club.” It is one of three integral components of an agricultural education program: classroom instruction, supervised agricultural experience and life skills. The FFA motto gives members twelve short words to live by as they experience the opportunities in the organization. Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.
All WRCC students have the opportunity to be involved with SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is an applied method of instruction for preparing America’s high performance workers enrolled in public career and technical programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free-enterprise system and involvement in community service.
